SONOMA RACEWAY – June 22, 2014

Mike-300x199My family and I had a heart-pounding, thunderous-roar, unforgettable NASCAR weekend at Sonoma Raceway for the Toyota Save Mart 350 and met our favorite driver and crew chief, Brad Keselowski and Paul Wolfe with Team Penske–a true blessing; thank you Supportmilitary.org!

MICHIGAN INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY – June 14, 2014

herzog-225x300I had the privilege to participate in a NASCAR race. The Support Military Foundation granted me, my friends, and family the opportunity to become part of the NASCAR experience, by working with the pit and crew, watching the race from pit road, and meeting numerous car drivers. This experience was something I have never done before and I am thankful for the support groups out there that contribute to veterans.

It truly was an amazing experience that I will cherish forever. I hope to make it to more races…I have the “itch” now for watching/attending NASCAR races! I hope there are races in Seattle!!??

If there is anything I can do to help please do not hesitate to let me know. It was so awesome hearing the background of the foundation/organization.

Thanks again and I appreciate everything.

2013 Annual National Military Spouse Career Summit in Washington, DC – October 21, 2013

JaneBell-300x300SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT

Dear Support Military Foundation,

JaneBellI am writing to express my sincere gratitude to you for making the Support Military Foundation Sponsorship possible and allowing me to attend the 2013 National Military Spouses Network (NMSN) summit. I was thrilled to learn of my selection for this honor and I am deeply appreciative of your support.

As a career military spouse and full-time student, I was able to connect with many military spouses allowing my network of contacts to broaden as well as my knowledge for options available for military spouses. Learning much from the speakers, mentors and experts attending allowed me to enhance my knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for future endeavors.

Thank you again for your generosity and support. By awarding me this sponsorship, you have lightened my financial burden allowing me the chance to attend a summit I would otherwise be unable to. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I hope one day I will be able to help other military spouses achieve their goals just as you have helped me.

Sincerely,

Jane Bell

BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY – August 24, 2013

Bristol_presentation1-300x199Getting to be your guest at that race was amazing. I couldn’t thank you enough. I have never experienced anything like it before. Getting to see all the cars and meet all the drivers was really cool and getting to be in the pits and hear the driver and pit crew during the race was awesome. Everyone was really nice and it was really good to see everyone come together before the race for the service. It was nice to see that with all that going on people take time out for God. Thank you again for giving me that opportunity, I will never forget it.

INDIANAPOLIS INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY – July 27, 2013

SenkowskiCircle-300x300SPC Tim Senkowski (OEF), was our Hero of the Day at Indianapolis International Speedway, July 27, 2013. He was hand selected by New York Warrior Alliance (NYWA), Founder Amy Tausch when she met his mother, Tamra at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda last November during NYWA’s annual Operation Wounded Warrior visit to the hospital. NYWA really wanted to get involve in additional programs for Warriors when they return home for rehabilitation and reintegration. Tim and his family live right outside of Indianapolis and his step-father, JR orchestrated all the details with Support Military Foundation Event Coordinator, Zach Pugh, III. The family wanted to surprise Tim with a family outing that he so deserved. Tim was injured in Afghanistan when he stepped on an IED. His battle buddy lost his life during the incident and Tim was very humbled to share his story in honor of his comrade. “We must never forget our fallen” he reminded the congregation during the certificate of appreciation presentation facilitated by Support Military Foundation.

From Amy Tausch: “I wanted to get you some informal feedback from Tim’s family. JR texted me Sunday that they had a wonderful time and thanked NYWA for everything. He said, ‘Just wanted to thank you again for everything. We all had a great day.’ I asked him if Tim was surprised and he said, ‘Yes, I think he had a good day, we all had a blast.'”

“He also commented that it was very enjoyable to be with COL DeVine all day. She is his favorite Colonel.”

“I talked to Tim’s Mom Tamra today.”

“She said Tim had a fabulous time and explained that ever since his accident, he is very reserved emotionally and says very little. This was beyond what they had expected and truly was wonderful for him. She could not thank me enough. She felt the SMF team was beyond wonderful to her family.”
